From Fiend Intel 4: Death from Below head west to Protorelic 2: Modular Reactor 2 for Cactuar Statue II then from the chocobo stop near Stonebowl Lifespring, circle the mountain and grapple up to Cactuar Rock II, beat the Gold Cactuars then return to Modular Reactor 2 and score at least 2,500 with Aerith to get Item Materia Earrings. L2 for Light Wards, R2 for Dark Wards, keeping both Chrono Aegis and Transcendence active. From the southwestern most chocobo stop go to Protorelic 3: Modular Reactor 3 for Cactuar Statue III then from Scrapyard Prison Cell go through the fence and left heading down to Cactuar Rock III. Beat the Gigantuar and return to Modular Reactor 3 and score at least 4,000 with Yuffie for a Cosmotite Ore and 3 Dark Matter. From Desert Watermain Cache turn around and reach Protorelic 4: Modular Reactor 4 for Cactuar Rock IV. From the southeastern most chocobo stop, circle to the right, climb, and grapple to Cactuar Rock IV. Beat the Gargantuar then return to Modular Reactor 4 and score at least 4,000 with Aerith to get another Cosmotite Ore and another 3 Dark Matter to have all 24 of them and get 1,000 Needle Pincushion. Beat Kid G to unlock the hard mode versions of Cactuar Crush and Protorelic 1: Gilgamesh Gardens. In each of the hard mode versions 6,000 points gives an Elixir. Complete each and get 10,000 Needle Pincushion. Yuffie tips: Physical attacks for green Cactuars, magic attacks for the rest. Banishment or Art of War then Supreme Art of War for the big ones. Aerith tips: Physical attacks for green Cactuars, magic for the rest. Dark purple Cactuars take more damage from the Dark Wards. Unleash Transcendence II on the big ones or two Soul Drains or multiple Tempest attacks. When the Cactuars throw bombs, it is best to run from them in a straight line and then warp back to the ward to continue attacking.
