Does paranoia explain killing of unarmed teen by security volunteer?

Unarmed Trayvon Martin was shot and killed last month by a neighborhood watch volunteer in Sanford, Florida. George Zimmerman made a call to 911 indicating that he thought the youth was up to no good. An operator told him not to follow the teen, but Zimmerman did anyway. Minutes later, Martin was dead.
