Measure the energy level of your audience and then come in a little bit above that. That way, you're the most exciting thing in the room. 03:37 Tip #2 Use Stories And/Or Share Personal Experience. One of the best ways to engage with a group of people is to share your personal experiences or stories with them. 04:44 Tip #3 Change Your Voice, Tone, Inflection, and Speed. One of the best ways to keep your audience engaged with you is to change your voice, tone, inflection, speed, and volume at intervals. 06:07 Tip #4 Use Open Loops. Use open loops to create curiosity about your stories or speech. Tell your audience the first half of something and then reveal the end later on. 07:07 Tip #5 Get Them Laughing. Laughter is a key component of audience engagement. The more humor you can add to your presentation, talk, or speech… the more you can get people laughing, then the better off you’ll be. 08:36 Tip #6 Be Vulnerable. When people see that the person on stage is, in fact, a human being and not some infallible “high and mighty” guru, they find it easier to relate and therefore feel engaged with you. 10:04 Tip #7 Get Off The Stage And Into The Crowd. You’ll become less of some type of “untouchable expert” and more of a friend or a comrade… because you’re among your audience and, therefore, part of them. You’ll also have the ability to actually connect to them on an individual basis.
