Completely Amazed by this Dog Friendly Hike at Acadia National Park

Such a Hidden Gem here at Acadia National Park! East Bound Adventures of Mom, Dad, Girl, and a Little White Dog Day 7: Rainy Day…. Although I must admit that we all don’t seem to mind the occasional rainy day as it forces us just to rest…. Alexis finished up her Junior Ranger book, and I experiment with cooking different wrap combinations. I never was a fan of wraps, but they’ve become my new obsession….. 👩🏼‍🍳 The rain clears up by the afternoon so we decide to head out to check out the Ship Harbor trail just down the road from Seawall campground. Really cool Trail! We honestly didn’t expect much from a short 1.3 mile loop, but it surprises us with beautiful sunset views! And bonus - it’s also dog friendly so Polly can join us. Most of the National Park trails are closed to dogs, but Acadia has quite a few that dogs are allowed to partake in the action! It’s actually the most dog friendly National Park! The Ship Harbor Trail is a 1.4-mile loop in Acadia National Park known for being an easy, family-friendly hike with scenic ocean views, rocky coastlines, and spruce forests. It's a quieter, less crowded alternative to other park trails, featuring a figure-eight design where the first half is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, while the full loop is more rugged. Beautiful waterside trail with awesome boardwalks, cool tide pools, and lots of seagull sightings! One of my favorite lowkey hikes in Acadia—not crowded and a good afternoon stroll after tiring yourself out on ladders. Come at low tide to see some cool snails in the tide pools! Intro: Sometimes Acadia National Park can feel very crowded. For the last three days, We've tried to hike a few of the more popular hikes like Jordan Pond and Beehive with no luck, finding a parking spot. Well, we discovered a hidden gem of a trail on the quieter side of Acadia and even ended up having the trail all to ourselves! But don't let this highlight real fool you - most of the day was spent waiting out the rain inside our Airstream..... You won't find this trail as any of the top trails at Acadia National Park, but we truly feel like we found a hidden gem in The Ship Harbor Trail! It's a short 1.4 mile loop with epic views along the shoreline and it's dog friendly! #vanlife #dog
