Wednesday's extended Cleveland weather forecast: The heat continues to be on in Northeast Ohio

Cleveland weather forecast for Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Weather Impact Alert Days continue through Saturday, as several days of serious heat continue. We'll do it all over again today, but we do have a bit of a wrench in the temperature forecast today. A widespread deck of cloud cover continues to stream out of the Gulf of Mexico, so we won't have as much sunshine today. The result will be highs that are just a tad cooler than the last two days. We should push into the upper 80s and low 90s, but combined with our thick humidity, it will still feel like the mid to upper 90s at times. Much like we've done the last few days, we'll pop a few afternoon storms in the peak heating. Some of these storms, although localized, will pack a punch with strong winds and heavy rain possible. Again, not for everyone, but they'll be around on radar. We'll have a similar day Thursday, but with more sunshine. Highs will push the low 90s with heat indices in the triple digits at times. We will pop a few storms likely along a lake breeze boundary during the afternoon. There is some relief in the extended forecast as a cold front will move through northern Ohio on Sunday. We'll stay hot and steamy through Saturday until that front moves through with daily highs in the low to mid 90s and heat indices in the dangerous levels above 100!
