The popularity of imported cars is going through the roof in Korea. Industry data shows local sales of brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi have spiked 25 percent this year compared to the same period last year. The market for used imported cars is also rising fast. This is reflected in the number of imported car showrooms in the country. As of the end of 2011, there were two-hundred-46 dotted around Korea. There are now three-hundred-64,... an increase of almost 50 percent in the space of less than three-and-a-half years. The automakers are also investing heavily in improving the quality of their after-sale service in Korea as Korean consumers have long bemoaned the cost and inconvenience of repairing their imported car.
