Wabi Sabi | The beauty of imperfection

Wabi Sabi is a Japanese concept of appreciating and accepting of transience and imperfection. Like kintsukuroi, it glorifies flaws, asymmetry, aging and uniqueness. I find this concept breathtakingly beautiful. Our age of consumerism, genetic modification, plastic surgery and photoshop has its perks, I can't argue with that. But following the illusion of perfection and flawlessness leads to disappointment and dissatisfaction. Let's appreciate the singularity, pick wild flowers over carefully cultivated roses, individuality over fitting in and self-love over diet pills and plastic surgeries. The world is painfully beautiful already, we just need to learn to see it. 💚 ___ instagram: anna_._fitzgerald tumblr: annafitzgerald ___
