Mosquitoes carrying West Nile virus found in H

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) -- Mosquitoes in the tri-state have tested positive for West Nile Virus. The bugs were recently trapped on Placid Place in the village of Silverton. West Nile is a viral disease that can be passed from mosquitoes to humans. Hamilton County public health workers will be conducting surveillance activities in the area where the mosquitoes were collected. They will be looking for areas of standing water, applying larvicide, making sure swimming pools are operating properly and advising neighbors on how to take precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
