Transfiguration of Our Lord - February 14, 2021

Son of God, Son of Humanity: It took the disciples quite a while to figure out Jesus' identity as the Messiah. The Gospel of Mark makes it clear who Jesus is. He is the Son of God and the Son of Man. Six days before the transfiguration of Jesus, he predicted his suffering, death and resurrection to his disciples. That is important because in the short span of one week, they experience Jesus as one who must suffer and as one who shines with the glory of God.
