Sunday Mass, Second Reading for February 19, 2017

1 Corinthians, 3:16-23 In the Seventh Sunday of Ordinary Time, the second reading shows how Paul voiced his concern on how the church in Corinth was dividing itself into factions, which each allied with a particular minister who had his own interpretation of Christ's teachings. Eerily reminiscent of the branches of Christianity today, Paul reminded them that even with the divided factions, they were all part of one "temple of God". No matter how many human leaders with varying interpretations there were, these divisions have no place among those who bear the name of Christ. To even argue about whose human wisdom is superior is meaningless, especially when you consider that our knowledge will always be but a speck next to that of God's. No matter what religious branch we claim to be in, we have equally received all things through Christ, and through our eternally wise, eternally holy Father.
