The Kremlin-installed governor of Crimea said a cruise missile was shot down by air defence forces near Kerch on July 9. In another incident, air defence systems shot down a Ukrainian missile in Russia's Rostov region. Russian officials claim two Ukrainian rockets were shot down in the country’s southern Bryansk Region. A Ukrainian commander claims Russian forces have been “trapped” as Ukrainian forces make progress in the Bakhmut direction. Meanwhile, Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister, Hanna Maliar, has claimed responsibility for an attack on the Crimea bridge last year. President Zelensky said Ukraine and its allies in NATO are working on security guarantees for his country.
