(15 Aug 2014) FOR CLEAN VERSION SEE STORY NUMBER: apus015596 Governor Jay Nixon and Captain Ron Johnson said at a Ferguson press conference Friday that last night's protests happened peacefully. Johnson said there were no arrests and no tear gas was used, unlike at Wednesday's violent protests. "It was a great night," he said. "There was no calls for service, we did not deploy tear gas. We did not have any roadblocks. We did not make any arrests." Several police reports and documents were released during a news conference where the the officer involved was identified as Darren Wilson, who has been on administrative leave since he shot 18-year-old Michael Brown on Aug. 9. Brown and his friend, Dorian Johnson, were suspected of taking the cigars from a convenience store in Ferguson that morning, according to police reports. Captain Ron Johnson said people have the right protest as long as they don't threaten the safety of the community. "In our anger we have to make sure we don't burn down our own house," he said.
