Anitra's Dance is the third number (out of four) in Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1. In this video we examine the shape of its extremely attractive melody, one which has been amazingly popular with composers for at least several hundred years. Knowing some of the most frequently used melodic forms is a very handy way to make connections between works written at different times, featuring very different expressive messages.
