Howrah Mumbai Duronto vs Deccan Queen Express: Parallel Entry into Kalyan

As the 12124 Pune Mumbai CST Deccan Queen Express snaked into Kalyan, a loud honk behind from the Igatpuri tracks drew my attention. Upon turning my head, I saw a sparkling Kalyan WCAM3, crawling towards Kalyan with the 12262 Howrah Mumbai CST Duronto Express. I whipped out my camera and started recording the action, only to see that I had around a minute's video time left. I was expecting some parallel action and as we entered Kalyan's platform, and the Duronto was hidden from view, I briskly changed my memory card and returned to the action. By now, the Duronto had nearly caught up with us and was steadily cruising through Kalyan's platforms. I braced myself for some stunning parallel action but lo behold! The CR section controllers were having none of that and the tracks were made clear for the Queen! The Duronto ground to a halt and we switched tracks, from the extreme south to the centre and proceeded on our merry way towards Mumbai CST! Oh well! The Queen always must have the right of way! :)
