Track 10 from their second album “Frantic City” released in 1980 copyright Attic Records. It was the band’s breakthrough and nationwide radio airplay made them stars in Canada. They played a concert at Ontario Place a few months after the album’s release where the promotors had underestimated the band’s popularity. After reaching their 12,000 seat capacity they had to turn away hundreds of fans. That sparked a huge riot involving police and the resulting destruction made national news. The venue later banned rock concerts for several years. Two months later the band appeared at Heatwave, a large festival held at Mosport Park, a racetrack east of Toronto. It was nicknamed “The Punk Woodstock” and was the first large concert to showcase punk and new wave bands exclusively. It attracted a crowd of 100,000 to see Rockpile, the Rumour, the B-52’s, Talking Heads, the Pretenders and Elvis Costello among others. That same year, Attic Records arranged a series of showcase gigs in New York City and invited numerous record company execs to attend in the hopes of getting a U.S. deal. Sadly, only a few days before the band was to travel there, guitarist Gord Lewis was involved in a car accident and suffered a serious spinal injury and several broken ribs. The NYC shows had to be cancelled and it took him almost a year to recuperate. Their dreams of worldwide success were dashed while the band was at their musical peak. This album was their most successful and was certified Platinum in Canada in 1983. Written by Gord Lewis, Steve Mahon, Nick Stipanitz & Frankie (Venom) Kerr and produced by Stacy Heydon.
