Rio's health secretary says canceling Carnival was right decision

After COVID-19 cases rocketed in Rio de Janeiro with the arrival of the new year and the highly contagious Omicron variant, infection rates now are staring to flatten. Still, Rio de Janeiro’s health secretary, Dr. Daniel Soranz told CGTN that the decision to postpone the city’s world-famous Carnival was the right thing to do and believes high vaccination rates offer hope.
