(Day 5) My trip to Bryce Canyon Part-1 (The Mossy Cave - The Queen's Garden)

The 5th day of our trip began with a spectacular sunrise at Bryce Canyon National Park. It was about 29 degrees as we watched the first rays of sunlight hit the amphitheater, hoodos, and spires of rock below us. After enjoying the sunrise, we had an awesome breakfast at Rustler's Restaurant in Tropic Utah. Following breakfast we returned briefly to our resort to change into our hiking gear, then drove to the Mossy Cave Trail for a small warm-up hike. After completing the hike at Mossy Cave, we returned to Bryce Canyon to hike The Queen's Garden Trail. This trail was one of the best trails that I have ever hiked. Starting at 8000 feet above sea level, you descend into the canyon that is over 70 million years of age. The rock formations and color are just stunning. Ascending out of the canyon is just as spectacular and requires more effort as you gain elevation. Dinner that evening was at the Sinclair gas station in Tropic Utah, where we feasted on burritos that were recommended to us while lodging in Zion National Park. After dinner we retired back at our resort, where we spent another wonderful evening sleeping under the stars!
