Taliban’s first PC: Diktat to women & media; attempts to allay global fears around terrorism
After taking over Kabul on 15th of August, Taliban addressed its first-ever Press Conference, clarifying its stand on multiple issues. Taliban’s spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said that women will have an inclusive role in the Afghan society but within the framework of Islam. His comments came amid fears around the situation of Afghan women under Taliban’s rule. Mujahid also assured other countries that the group doesn’t want any enemies.
