Educators frustrated by PG&E shutoff that never happened

Thousands of PG&E customers prepared for a public safety power shutoff that never happened. The utility company announced plans to turn off power to customers in the Sierra foothills around 7 a.m. Wednesday. On Tuesday night, some school districts canceled classes at campuses expected to be without power. However by Wednesday afternoon, the PG&E changed course, saying improving weather conditions meant more than 80,000 customers originally set to lost power would no longer be included in the shutoff.
