QUICK GUIDE: How to upgrade your weapons for FREE in Expedition 33 Clair Obscur

Here's a quick guide on how to upgrade your weapons for free in Expedition 33 Clair Obscur without using Chroma Catalysts. Before you start using your hard-earned, polished, resplendent, and grandiose chroma catalysts to upgrade your weapons with the Curator (which, in case you want to farm I have a couple of videos in the playlist at the end of this one), I'm going to advise you NOT to upgrade any of them yet because A) some of them are really bad, and B) there's a hidden game mechanic in the game that will let you upgrade some of your weapons to a higher level for free. So, buckle up and let me tell you how to do this. You see, in the game, you can obtain many weapons by defeating enemies while exploring the Continent. Let's take this case for example, by defeating a Braseleur we got the Braselim weapon, and a few hours later, defeating a Chromatic Braseler gave us an upgrade on the same weapon, taking it from level 15 to level 21. And if you're typing in the comments "Hey, but I can't defeat chromatic bosses right now", don't worry, let's see another example, here's a Glaisum dropped after defeating a Glaise, we got it at Level 14 and later in the endgame, we upgraded it to level 28 just by defeating another one of those enemies. These are random drops, but the more enemies you defeat of one kind, the more likely you are to get a new drop of that weapon further down the road. So, you get the idea, the more you explore, the more opportunities you'll have to get these upgrades for free as you advance in the story and battle against different types of enemies. Also, there's another way of upgrading, not for free, but with just a little bit of chroma. You can do this by finding any of the different vendors scattered around the world and buying an upgraded version of the weapons they are selling. You can see the level of the weapon on your inventory and the one he's selling side by side so you can decide if it is a good purchase or not, pretty handy and let's you decide what's best for you and your digital wallet.
