I composed this new piece using Spitfire Audio’s BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover, available to everyone for FREE! I haven’t used this sample library before so I challenged myself to write something with only the included instruments. I also used a scoring template for Cubase provided by Spitfire, and made very little changes just to better suit the workflow I’m used to. Overall, it’s something anyone can install and start recording in a short amount of time. This is an amazing sounding library and while it does have a limited number of included instruments and articulations, I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to get started composing for orchestra, or even adding some of these instruments to just about any genre of songs you’d want to write. It’s light on computer resources, taking up only about 200MB of storage compared to the flagship Professional edition which is a whopping 600GB! For more info you can checkout the product page below. The video footage was taken at Big Bear Lake, CA last year with my DJI Spark drone. If you enjoy this video don’t forget to like and subscribe!
