Former British Army Intelligence Officer Philip Ingram has said that the Wagner Group's joint military drills with Belarus Armed Forces along the border shared between the Russian ally and Poland represents an attempt by Vladimir Putin to 'split' the West's resolve in support for Ukraine. The Polish government announced that it would be sending 10,000 extra soldiers to the border it shares with the close ally of Russia following the commencement of military drills just miles from its territory. However, Ingram says that the rumoured 250 Wagner mercenaries 'wouldn't pose a significant threat' to Poland, a NATO nation, if they attempted to mount an armed attack.
