Officials said Afghan government forces fought Taliban insurgents in and around multiple cities on Thursday, as the Taliban continued its attack, which US intelligence says could see them take over Kabul in 90 days. The Taliban's rapid march - they've taken eight provincial capitals in less than a week and are threatening to take at least three more - has prompted considerable criticism of US President Joe Biden's decision to remove US forces and allow the Afghan government to fight on its own.
