If your puppy is barking in the crate, he is more than likely trying to get your attention. FIRSTLY, be sure that the dog doesn't need to go to the bathroom or is thirsty. But otherwise you will need to let the puppy learn to settle in the crate before he gets out. Remember, good behavior gets your attention - bad behavior gets you ignored.
