158 packets of heroin at the size of soap boxes worth than Rs 14 crore from one tourist bus.

Acting on a tip off, the Ri Bhoi Police hs today managed to seize heroin worth than Rs 14 crore from one tourist bus. The Ri Bhoi police laid it trap at Saiden, Nongpoh and intercepted the tourist bus bearing registered number MN 01 AA 0484 at around 5 a.m and managed to seize the Heroin which was hide carefully inside the bus. There are 158 packets of heroin at the size of soap boxes found from inside the back part of the bus that was seized by Police. It waa also informed that this bus is ferrying students from Manipur to drop them in Shillong for their study tour and they were replaced by another bus to drop them to Shillong after the bus was intercepted by Ri Bhoi Police The Ri Bhoi police had also arrested the driver nd two co drivers for alleged involved in illegal smuggling of heroin from Manipur to Shillong. They were identified as Sadam Hussain, u Igbal Hussain and Rashi Judin. The matter is under inquiry and the case have been registered under NDPS act for legal action.
