Watch PV Sindhu Interview. Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is an Indian badminton player. Sindhu became the first Indian ever to become a world champion in badminton, winning the gold medal at 2019. She trains at Hyderabad's Gopichand Badminton Academy and is supported by Olympic Gold Quest, a not-for-profit foundation that identifies and supports Indian athletes. In 2014 PV Sindhu created history by becoming the first Indian to win two back-to-back medals in the World Badminton Championships. PV Sindhu has reached the semifinal of the world cup in Denmark and was honored with Padma Shri in 2015. A visibly elated PV Sindhu rated her win over London Olympics silver medalist Yihan Wang as one of the best moments of her career hoping that she could maintain her good form against Japanese Nozomi Okuhara also in the semi-finals of the Rio Olympics 2016.
