So we're often asked how you can flood-proof a house, it's not a term that we particularly like as it implies your house will be 100% protected which isn't very realistic. However, there are ways to reduce the ingress into the property. Today we are going to look at how we can make the walls more flood resistant. Well, floodproofing is split into 2 key areas: 1. Positive Water Proofing This is used outside of a structure helping to stop water from penetrating into the property. This is often less disruptive as it does not impact people inside the property. 2. Negative Water Proofing This is used inside the property, preventing the water to enter the property externally. This tends to be a bit more disruptive as it takes longer to dry and will impact the people inside the property.
