Players control "Wolf," a shinobi on a mission to rescue a divine heir and protect him from a disgraced samurai. The game emphasizes third-person, stealth-based gameplay with verticality, utilizing a customizable prosthetic arm, a grappling hook, and a skill tree to defeat enemies through combat and stealth. It features a unique combat system focused on breaking enemy posture, a unique "Dragonrot" mechanic where player deaths affect NPCs, and offers different endings based on player choices.
