McAllen Stair Climb '14- Up Close & Personal

More than 300 people showed up at the Neuhaus Tower Sept. 14, 2014 to pay tribute to the 343 firefighters who lost their lives during the 9/11 attacks. Dozens of firefighters and emergency responders joined the community to scale the steps of the 17-story building, nearly seven times, to total 110 stories. The climb during the inaugural McAllen Stair Climb was symbolic---110 stories — the number of stories that once stood at the twin towers. Each climber carried a picture of one of the firefighters that lost their lives during the nation’s worst terrorist attack. Here’s a firsthand look at the first annual climb to commemorate the firefighters that perished Sept. 11, 2001. Video recording by Jose Esqueda and Jim Bob Sides
