What would it be like if Super Mario Bros. Deluxe existed for GBA (Game Boy Advance?) It would be more or less like this: Super Mario Bros. Deluxe Advance! How did I come to the conclusion that it could be like this? Let me explain! "Super Mario Bros. Deluxe", for those who don't know, was made by Nintendo R&D2, the same Nintendo development group responsible for the Super Mario Advance series. The only difference is that Super Mario Bros. Deluxe was made from scratch, without using the original source code. Super Mario Advance 1 would be called "Super Mario Bros. 2 Deluxe". There are even recordings of the characters' voices pronouncing the old name of the game. If R&2 decided to make a remake of Super Mario Bros. 1 as the first game, they would continue with the name "Super Mario Bros. Deluxe" adding only "Advance" at the end of the name, the colors would be stronger, the songs would have some problems with tones, different instruments as they do in the first titles, and obviously they would have those animations with scale zoom or fluid movement (as happens a lot in Super FX and Super Mario Advance games). So I did an assessment of the use of both games (SMBDX and Super Mario Advance)... they had the idea of making giant Shy Guys and some changes in the level scenery, right? I also did that for this playable animation. About the Advance Coins (Ace Coins), they are practically the red coins from Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. You can notice that even in the first Advance, they are red. The "beep" on the SMBDX map is also in Advance 1, but it makes a coin sound (like I show on the Deluxe Advance map in the video). The two games have a lot in common with each other. I'm always analyzing every detail to add. This was a job that took me a week and a few days to complete. I first released it for those who follow the "community" tab on the channel, then on GameJolt. I don't plan on continuing, but you can! You can edit the game as you wish, create your own levels. I'm going to turn this game into a special one to celebrate SMB1 next year, called "Super Mario Bros. Advance Championships". It will keep the same high contrast and style as the GBA. A FAQ "Why don't you use this map on SMA5?" R: Because "BS Mario Collection" (Day 1 and 2) came out before Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. For those who don't know, it was the first game that made Super Mario Bros. 1 and 2 JP/Lost Levels with maps. Made exclusively for the Super Famicom (SFC/Super Nintendo JP) with the Satellaview accessory. This game uses the Super Mario Bros. 3 map for the first game, but with new art styles, and a new HUD panel below the screen. The reason why many people don't know about it is that days 1 and 2 of the game are extremely rare! You can only find the same unique (few) recordings of the game on YouTube. And yes, this is "Super Mario Advance 5 - Super Mario Bros." completely modified, just like I did for Super Mario Wonderland and other games derived from the same source as SMA5, including even Super Mario Bros. Wonder for Classic Players. I hope you like it! If you want to play it, just check out my channel's community or search for "Super Mario Bros. Deluxe Advance" on GameJolt. See you next time!
