Recorded over 3-week period in November and December 1978 at ABBA's Polar Studios in Stockholm, Sweden. In 1980, Led Zeppelin disbanded following the death of drummer John Bonham. Album that spent the most weeks on top of US charts (tied along with Led Zeppelin II and Physical Graffiti), hit #1 in 2nd week on chart selling 1.7 million copies within days of release. 1. In The Evening – Page uses a Gizmotron to create the droning effects and sliding solo at the beginning of the song. Planned as the opening track for the album as "a full-blown epic", in order to show they could still make good music. 2. South Bound Saurez – Written by Jones and Plant 3. Fool In The Rain – Last single released in US, reaching #21, before they formally disbanded in 1980. Song exhibits a Latin feel. Jones and Plant developed the idea for the samba beat from watching the 1978 FIFA World Cup tournament in Argentina. 4. Hot Dog – Written by Page and Plant, rockabilly inspired track, that came out of initial rehearsals, where the group warmed up by playing a series of old Elvis Presley and Ricky Nelson covers. 5. Carouselambra – Title refers to 1st section of song that has similarities to carousel music. Jones' synthesizers dominate the song, Page's guitar playing a supporting role and used a Gizmotron. 6. All My Love – Credited to Plant and Jones, mid-tempo rock ballad, features a synthesizer solo by Jones. Written in honor of Plant's late son Karac, Plant stated it was one of Led Zeppelin's "finest moments". 7. I'm Gonna Crawl - Plant arranged the track to be in the style of mid-1960s soul music such as Wilson Pickett and Otis Redding.
