Crosse Creek Rifle and Pistol Club, August Defensive Pistol match Shot with GoPro7 This was my first competitive pistol match, and it shows. Movement is slow, same with reticle acquisition. I think a lot of that is nerves and trying to avoid safety violations. The best advice I can give anyone who is thinking about going to their first competition match is don't go out and expect to win. Go out and just try to finish the match without getting a safety DQ. Do that and consider it a win. Don't be afraid to ask fellow competitors for help or advice, most everyone I've met at these events has been super willing to help out new shooters.
