Please subscribe and click the bell icon for new video notifications. A Midsummer Night’s Dream: Context A Midsummer Night’s Dream is an ensemble play in which different groups of characters hold the stage at different times. It begins in a version of ancient Athens, moves to woodlands that seem straight out of English folklore, then moves back to Athens again. It is one of three on the play; the others deal with characterisation and context. Taken together they are a useful introduction to major aspects of the play, and can be viewed separately by students at any level as well as anyone with an interest in the play.
