Sole-survivor of Air India crash opens up on 'miracle' survival and being left 'broken'

The only survivor of the Air India catastrophe that killed 241 people in June says it is a miracle he is alive, but his brother’s death “wiped out my joy”. The 39-year-old said losing his brother, Ajay, who was on the same flight, has left his family “with nothing”. Nearly four months after the crash in Ahmedabad, Briton Vishwash Kumar Ramesh says he is tormented by relentless flashbacks. The London-bound Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner smashed into a town shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad airport on 12 June, killing everyone on board except Ramesh.
