Chest Tube/Chest Drain. Indications, Nursing Care, Incentive Spirometry, Tube Removal in urdu/hindi. In this video, I have explained the concept of hemothorax & pneumothorax in a very simple language. A bit of pleural anatomy & basics of inserting a chest tube/ chest drain to treat these emergency surgical conditions that can be deadly if not diagnosed promptly. A chest tube is inserted through the chest wall and into the pleural space. It is used to remove air, fluid, or pus from the pleural space to help the lungs expand and function properly. Chest tubes are commonly used to treat conditions such as pneumothorax (collapsed lung), pleural effusion (excess fluid around the lungs), hemothorax (blood in the pleural space), and empyema (pus in the pleural space). The tube is usually connected to a drainage system(under water seal) that allows the fluid or air to escape while preventing it from re-entering the pleural space. Every health care provider (doctors, nurses & paramedics) working on surgical floor needs to understand the proper care of patients having chest Drains, so that they can manage the pateints properly and answer the patient's querries in a simple & effective way. Care is based on two basic principles i.e., keeping the patient painfree ( WHO stepladder pattern of pain management) and incentive spirometry. Both of them are explained in the last part of this video. Before making this video I have researched and i didn't find a single comprehensive video in urdu/hindi on this very particular topic. Hopefully this video will be helpful for the patients as well as health care providers. Due credits the sources of images used especially Osmosis.
