ZZ Top Party on the Patio on HQ Vinyl with Lyrics in Description

Track 10 from their seventh album "El Loco" released in 1981 copyright Warner Bros. Records. Along the way, the band met Linden Hudson, an accomplished songwriter and producer, who would be influential in helping to shape the band's direction going forward. He worked as a pre-production engineer for this album, whatever that means, and after hearing "Groovy Little Hippy Pad" he decided to compose a synthesizer intro for it and present it to the band. They liked it and it became the first use of synthesizers on a ZZ Top album. It seems that the band members, being blues/rock purists, weren't eager to admit that they had suddenly embraced this new technology, so there was no mention of its use in the album credits. It received above average reviews and reached No. 88 in the U.K. and No. 17 on Billboard. It achieved Gold status the same year. Recorded from the original vinyl. Written by Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill & Frank Beard and produced by Bill Ham. RIP Bill Ham & Dusty Hill. Featuring: Billy Gibbons - Lead vocals, slide, lead & rhythm guitars Dusty Hill - Bass & background vocals, co-lead vocal on "Don't Tease Me" Frank Beard - Drums & percussion Special Guest - Linden Hudson - Synthesizers I found an empty house in my neighborhood I knew that we shouldn't but I thought we could Knew it wouldn't be hard to slide into the backyard Called all my friends and slipped a hundred to the guard We turned on the radio and had a party on the patio Betty's in the sauna and she's gettin' kinda hot Mary's in the icebox wishin' she was not Connie's in the whirlpool, Jimmy's tryin' to be cool Libby's in the bushes 'cause she's nobody's fool We turn the lights down low and have a party on the patio Heard the cops are comin' so we tried to jump the fence Mary didn't make it and we haven't seen her since Connie had another drink, Jimmy simply couldn't think Billy G was passed out underneath the sink But everybody's gonna show for another party on the patio
