02 — Final Fantasy VII Remake | Ch. 2: Fateful Encounters

FF7 is, for me, the most over-hyped game in the franchise. I thought it was good, sure, but I still don’t get why so many people love it so damned much! I’m hoping that the Final Fantasy VII Remake (FF7R) can give me any insight into that, though I’m expecting changes in the general storytelling anyways. I’m sure things have been changed, improved, expanded, and clarified for this new imagining of the narrative. I’m still a bit annoyed at the marketing, however. This is NOT the full remake and I don’t think it should be marketed as such. It needs an “episode one” or “part one” attached to it. Missing that out is false advertising, in my opinion — at least for anyone who hasn’t been following the game’s development and KNOWS it’s only a small segment of the original experience.
