Tensions are rising in East Asia after the U.S. and Japan carried out a major show of force over the Sea of Japan. Tokyo says two US B-52 nuclear-capable bombers flew with Japanese F-35 and F-15 fighter jets, just a day after China and Russia held coordinated bomber and naval drills near Japan and South Korea. Russia’s TU-95 and China’s H-6 bombers later conducted an eight-hour joint flight into the Pacific, joined by Chinese J-16 fighters.
