This feels like the easiest boss out of all the Nightlords so far and the one with the simplest moveset. Absolutely beautiful arena, music and atmosphere though, all of which are my favorite in the game out of all the Nightlords I’ve fought. Also FINALLY A PROPER SLEEP BOSS ITS ABOUT TIME! As for the fight itself, I know this boss gets a lot of flack (understandably) because it’s annoyingly difficult to hit with melee characters since it’s constantly floating around and out of reach. I felt that frustration here with this fight too but I’d say Sentient Pest’s phase 1 is a lot more annoying to fight solo than this boss in its entirety. Wylder’s grapple skill also helps to somewhat alleviate this issue since I can get to him easier. The wave attacks it uses can be somewhat deceptive in their timing because of the way they “hop” across the arena but it definitely seems like you’d want to dodge later than you’d expect. It’s jellyfish spawns aren’t super threatening and while I could’ve killed them to turn them into projectiles that home in on the boss, they come in clumps that can explode on you so I decided to play it safe. The worms felt like much more of a threat because they have a much bigger range and do a lot more damage. But by far its most dangerous move is when it does a spin and begins to fall asleep. Thankfully I caught the tell for this early on because if you don’t stagger it out of this attack, it’s practically a death sentence since you get sleep procced and take massive damage throughout the entirety of the animation. Once again Wylder’s grapple really came in clutch here for closing the distance so I could either ult or use my Weapon Art to stagger it out of the attack. Overall not too much to this fight but it is pretty peak cinema in everything else!
