Parliament special sitting to deliberate Presidential memorandum on 8% VAT

A special sitting of parliament to deliberate the Presidential memorandum on the 8% VAT on petroleum products ended abruptly after the speaker shelved debate to Thursday. The speaker instead directed the finance committee to probe the memorandum and file its report by Thursday for debate. This prompted the house to adjourn prematurely as MP’s voted to shelve remaining business until Thursday.
