The two hour course is mandatory for anyone involved with the growing or distributing of medical cannabis in the state. The course covers cannabis laws, regulations, and the handling procedures of medical cannabis. “Industry training is an essential step in making medical cannabis products available to West Virginians with serious medical conditions,” said Jason Frame, director of the Office of Medical Cannabis, in the release. “We continue to work toward the goal of providing eligible state residents with the ability to safely access medical cannabis as quickly as possible.” https://www.whsv.com/2020/11/10/w-va-... ** R: Last up: In a report by Marijuana Moment, in accordance with a new law to take effect throughout the state of Virginia, law enforcement will no longer be permitted to search people or seize property based only on the smell of cannabis. The new legislation reads: “No law-enforcement officer may lawfully stop, search, or seize any person, place, or thing solely on the basis of the odor of marijuana, and no evidence discovered or obtained as a result of such unlawful search or seizure shall be admissible in any trial, hearing, or other proceeding.” “This is another victory for common sense marijuana law reform in Virginia. Decreasing non-essential interactions between law enforcement and otherwise law-abiding Virginians is now more important than ever,” Jenn Michelle Pedini, development director of NORML and executive director of the Virginia NORML, said in a press release.
