Surah Kafirun (Arabic text: ألكَافِرُونَ‎) is the 109th Surah of the Qur’an. It is titled in English, “The Disbelievers” and composed of 6 verses. The majority of scholars believe that Surah Kafirun is a Meccan surah. The theme or subject points itself to being a Meccan Surah. Here it directly addresses the disbelievers of Mecca who approached Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and tried to bribe him with wealth and hand in marriage to any women in their tribe on the condition that he does not speak badly of their gods. They tried to negotiate with Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) commit shirk, thus Surah Kafirun was revealed with a clear message, “I do not worship what you worship.
