He sang this song in 1962 at Carnegie Hall. This recording comes from a 1965 vinyl LP “The Navy Swings” with the Dick Stabile Orchestra. “Lonesome Road" was written in 1927 by Nathaniel Shilkret and Gene Austin. It was originally an African-American folk song. It’s been recorded as a blues song, jazz, and swing.
