Powerful Western Weather System Enters Pakistan | Heavy Rain & Snowfall Alert | NDMA Warning A powerful western weather system has entered Pakistan, bringing heavy rain, snowfall, and severe cold conditions across multiple regions. According to NDMA, rain has already been recorded in Gwadar and Jiwani, while snowfall is expected in KPK, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree, Naran, Kaghan, Swat, Skardu, and Hunza. The NDMA has issued alerts for landslides and avalanches, especially in mountainous areas. Islamabad and Rawalpindi are likely to receive rain from 31 December to 1 January, while Karachi and Hyderabad may experience light showers. Rainfall is also expected to reduce fog in Punjab and upper Sindh. The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced full preparedness in Balochistan, particularly in Quetta, Chaman, Kachlak, and Muslim Bagh, with snow-clearing machinery and trained staff available 24/7.
