READ DESCRIPTION!!! FOR INSTRUCTIONS!!!! HYSSEditing - Realistic Muzzle Flare / Flash Tutorial - HD Hello Everyone. This is a tutorial to show you how to ACTUALLY make a GOOD muzzle flare / flash INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Open up your footage and drag it on a new compostion. 2.Import your muzzle flash to AE. We used Action Essential 2 by Videocopilot.net , it was muzzle flash straight 10. 3. Cut one frame of the muzzle flash because videocopilot muzzle flashes, you can see them for 2 frames. and you want to see it for 1 frame on. 4. then duplicate the layer. 5.then cut all of the smoke of the first muzzle flash. so you can only see the picture of the muzzle flash. and for the one that you just duplicated you cut off the muzzle flash and only keep the smoke. 5. you set the blending mode on muzzle flash 1 which is the muzzle flash with the actuall picture of the muzzle flash to SCREEN. that will give you a good effect. 6.you go to the muzzle flash one and add the effect glow. then you change one of the setting to ON TOP and set glow therhold to 85%. 7. now you go to your smoke which is muzzle flash 2 and just add glow. 8. you highlight the smoke and the muzzle flash and put it where you want and the time you want. 9. COLOR CORRECTION AND GRADING IF YOU WANT. 10. you duplicate the footage's layer. and set the new layer blending mode to add. 11. make a mask of the new footage layer on the muzzle flash and the body of the man. set the feather to about 40% 12. one frame before muzzle flash one. you press the timer thing on the mask opicty. you set it 0%. then you go one more frame which should be the frame where you see muzzle flash one. and set it to 100%. go one more frame and set to 0%. 12. do it to all other cases.
