New ordinance to curb after-hours nightlife violence in Seattle now in effect
A new ordinance aimed at reducing violence at after-hours nightlife venues took effect Monday, following a deadly shooting outside a Pioneer Square club that claimed three lives on Saturday. The ordinance, developed in response to a series of shootings and murders at after-hours establishments, seeks to establish safer standards for these venues. "This ordinance has been honestly a long time coming.," said Erin Goodman, executive director of the SODO Business Improvement Area.
