The process of ATP synthesis

The synthesis of ATP molecules in mitochondria is a vital process that creates the basis for the respiratory chain. ATP molecules are recovered from ADP molecules through ATP synthase. These unique molecular mechanisms work as a mini-factory that supplies energy to the cell. The ATP synthesis cycle is located on the inner membrane of the mitochondria. There are also other proteins that form the structure of the mitochondrial permeability transition pores.
