THE GREAT NARROWBOAT ESCAPE - VLOG 83

Narrowboat Rush hour as boaters leave the canal down the locks, as they're about to close the canal, due low water levels. A record number of boats make a mad dash to escape being trapped! Volunteer lock keepers run at full speed to help the boats navigate safely through the locks. Also... I take a narrowboat cruise along the Peak forest canal to Whaley bridge, and joined onboard by musician and friend, 'PaoloC', who takes to the helm for the first time! And, have I just spotted a red kite or a rare black kite bird of prey? Watch till the end to find out! The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter. I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal.
