Hell Vanguard is a pretty easy boss... once you know how his attack patterns work. use the Pause Menu by popping in and out of it to delay Vanguards teleports, there will be random moments where he teleports in the air while Dante is jumping, pay attention to his attacks and try your best to stay on the ground he will catch you off guard if you let him.
