An mpg movie clip shows a pair of beads between which is tethered a (invisible) DNA molecule. One bead is trapped in a laser-trap and the other is manipulated using a pipette. On pulling, the movement of the trapped bead reports the force as the DNA is stretched. The movie is from http://alice.berkeley.edu/ ∼steve/DNAstr.html and the research is reviewed in Bustamante, C., J.C. Macosko, and G.J.L.
